Shamita Shetty (Tulu : ಶಮಿತಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ),(born February 2, 1979) is an Indian actress. She is the younger sister of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Early life

Shamita is the second and youngest daughter of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty. She was born in a traditional close-knit family that hails from the Bunt community of Mangalore. Her parents are manufacturers of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry and her native language is Tulu. Shamita Shetty attended St Anthony's Girls High School in Chembur, Mumbai. She graduated from Sydenham College.

Personal life

Shamita Shetty previously dated Indian actor Aftab Shivdasani. Shamita is currently single.

Career

Shetty made her debut in 2000 with the Yash Raj Films blockbuster Mohabbatein, which was directed by Aditya Chopra. Since Mohabbatein, she mostly found success in item numbers, including "Sharara Sharara" in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2001) and "Chori Pe Chori" in Saathiya (2002). Later Shetty found success as an actress with her first solo-hit Zeher. She worked once with her sister Shilpa Shetty in Fareb in that same year.

She created controversy by appearing without underwear[1] in a party. The picture was published in the magazine and drew media attention. It was widely believed as a publicity stunt

Ayesha Azmi born as Ayesha Takia (Hindi: आयेषा टाकिया) on April 10, 1986[1] is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies.

Career

Takia appeared in "I'm a Complan Boy! I'm a Complan Girl!" advertising campaign alongside Shahid Kapur[2] and also in a music video, Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunarii Udd Udd Jaye, when she was fifteen. She then appeared in the video, Shake It With Me Daddy, when she was sixteen, which brought her to the attention of the movie industry, and a few film offers followed. She signed a contract for Socha Na Tha, then for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. However, delays in making Socha Na Tha meant that Taarzan released first and was therefore her "debut" film. She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for her performance in Taarzan: The Wonder Car.

Personal life

Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1986.[3] She comes from a mixed family. Her father, Nishit, is Gujarati, and her mother, Faridah, is half British and half Maharashtrian, an Anglo-Indian. Takia went to St. Anthony's High School. Her father interacts with her producers and handles her dates. She has a younger sister named Natasha.

On March 1, 2009, Takia married Farhan Azmi, a restaurateur and the son of Muslim politician Abu Azmi, a Samajwadi Party leader.[4] The couple had originally planned to marry in December 2008, but the wedding was delayed due to the Mumbai attacks.
